Can I attend a direct cremation?

A traditional direct cremation takes place without a service or attendees at the crematorium. However, at Yorkshire Direct Cremation we understand that some families would like an opportunity to say goodbye. That's why we offer our Pure, Simple Direct Cremation with a Family Farewell, which includes time to visit your loved one in our chapel of rest before the cremation takes place.

Can I view my loved one before the cremation?

Yes. Unlike many national direct cremation providers, we can offer families the opportunity to spend time with their loved one in our local chapel of rest. Our Family Farewell option includes a private visit on the evening before, or morning of, the cremation, allowing family and friends to say goodbye in a peaceful and dignified setting.

How much does a direct cremation cost?

Our Pure, Simple Direct Cremation is available from £1,299, including the crematorium fee, collection into our care, a coffin, hearse transport, professionally dressed staff and a small floral tribute. For families who would like the opportunity to spend time with their loved one beforehand, our Pure, Simple Direct Cremation with a Family Farewell is available from £1,450.

Do you collect from home, hospital or care home?

Yes. We provide collection from homes, hospitals and care homes throughout Yorkshire. Our team is available 24 hours a day and your loved one will be brought into our care with dignity and respect. Collections within 20 miles of our premises are included within our standard fee, with a small additional charge for longer distances.

Do I have to pay upfront?

No. We believe families should have time to make arrangements without immediate financial pressure. Unlike many providers, we do not require payment before the cremation takes place. We simply send an invoice after the cremation has been completed, allowing you time to organise finances and deal with the practicalities following a bereavement.
